NMC’s current general information says Indian and OCI candidates intending to obtain a primary medical qualification abroad on or after May 2018 must qualify NEET. Confirm the rule and validity applicable to your admission year.
For cohorts covered by the FMGL Regulations, the framework contains conditions concerning course and internship duration, subjects, English-medium instruction, clinical training and the location of study. Review the complete regulation—not a summary—against the exact programme.
NMC’s current equivalence guidance states that Indian and OCI foreign graduates are required to qualify FMGE conducted by NBEMS, then approach the relevant State Medical Council for registration and CRMI where applicable.
NMC, NBEMS and State Medical Councils have different roles. NMC also states that it does not endorse a general list of foreign universities. A directory listing alone does not establish approval or personal eligibility.
The applicable framework can depend on when a student was admitted, the programme completed and later official notices. NMC’s 2026 FAQs also emphasise case-specific documentary verification by State Medical Councils.
NBEMS was conducting FMGE in 2026. NMC’s regulations page continues to display its July 2023 notice deferring NExT until further directions. Students should check the latest official position at each decision stage.

UNEXT currently presents MBBS pathways for Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Georgia. Each country and university must be assessed separately for programme structure, teaching language, clinical training, costs and regulatory fit.
Compare the exact programme, official university status, curriculum, teaching and clinical language, clinical exposure, internship structure, current fees, living arrangements and the licensing pathway relevant to your long-term plans.
Plan for accommodation, food, visa and documentation, travel, insurance or medical costs, local transport, day-to-day living, licensing preparation, currency movement and an emergency buffer.
It depends on the university and programme. Ask for written confirmation of the teaching language across all academic and clinical years, including the language used with patients during clinical training.
Verify the university and exact programme, obtain the current official fee schedule, understand inclusions and exclusions, read refund and cancellation terms, and keep written payment instructions and receipts.
You must meet the rules that apply to your cohort and circumstances. Current NMC guidance refers foreign graduates to the applicable FMGL, screening-test and eligibility framework; NBEMS currently conducts FMGE, followed by State Medical Council processes and internship requirements where applicable. Check current official guidance before admission and again before graduation.
