NO CONFUSING TOTALS
Understand the fees before you compare.
01 · Tuition
The fee for your course. Each university page shows the available Year 1 to Year 6 reference separately.
02 · Hostel
Your accommodation. We state whether it is included, separate, monthly or yearly — and flag unclear entries.
03 · Mess / food
Your meals. A mess plan and your actual food spending are different. We do not turn missing prices into zero.
How we calculate Indian rupees
USD 1 = ₹95 is UNEXT’s fixed estimate, not the market rate. RUB 1 ≈ ₹1.1343, based on the Bank of Russia rate dated 24 September 2026 (100 INR = 88.1605 RUB). INR figures are approximate and rounded. Your bank’s payment rate may differ.
Fees can change each year. For planning, allow for a possible 5–10% annual tuition increase due to inflation. This is a UNEXT budgeting allowance, not a confirmed increase for every university. The final university fee schedule takes priority. No extra inflation increase has been added to the tables.
Only tuition, hostel and mess/food are compared here. This is not the full cost of studying abroad. Where the reference bundles costs, we identify that instead of inventing a tuition-only split.
Fee figures are from the business-supplied reference selected for the 2026–27 comparison, not independently issued 2026–27 university quotes. Confirm the final invoice, room type and billing period before paying.
FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Five questions to ask before you apply.
What will I study? Get the full course plan, degree title, duration and internship details.
Which language is used? Confirm classroom teaching for every year and the language used with patients.
Where will I live? Ask for the hostel address, room sharing, months covered and current photos.
What can change? Check later-year tuition, hostel availability, food costs and currency changes.
What must I do to practise in India? Read the current NMC rules. A university listing does not itself confirm eligibility to practise.
Check current travel guidance from the Embassy of India in Moscow before choosing a city or booking travel. For Kursk and Crimea, confirm the latest local situation and in-person teaching arrangements directly.
Questions from students and parents
Why do you call it MBBS if the course says General Medicine?
Indian families often search for “MBBS in Russia”. Russian universities commonly use “General Medicine” for their medical degree. Check the exact award and course requirements; names alone do not establish equivalence or eligibility to practise.
Are these all UNEXT partner universities?
No. These are universities for research and comparison. A listing is not a partnership claim or admission guarantee.
Will tuition increase by 5–10% every year?
It may change. UNEXT suggests keeping a possible 5–10% annual increase in your budget for inflation. It is not a fixed university rule. Follow the written fee schedule for your intake.
Is this the full cost of studying in Russia?
No. These pages compare tuition, hostel and food only. Other compulsory and personal expenses may apply. Ask for a complete written budget before committing.
Why is Nizhny Novgorod not listed separately?
Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy is the former name of Privolzhsky Research Medical University. Use either name in the search to find the same listing.
