What Do Official Medical Programme Pages Show?

Tbilisi State Medical University, the University of Georgia and European University publish English-medium Medical Doctor programmes structured as six years and 360 ECTS credits. These are one-cycle medical degrees, but their curriculum, admission process, fees and clinical arrangements are not identical.

A six-year duration alone does not confirm that a programme meets every requirement for future registration in India. Families must compare the full written programme and internship documents.

Official Programme Examples — Not a Recommended Shortlist

• Tbilisi State Medical University: its English-medium MD programme is published as six academic years and 360 ECTS. The university currently publishes annual tuition of US$8,000 for the English-medium MD programme.
• University of Georgia: its official programme page describes an English-medium Medicine programme of six years and 360 ECTS, with English competence assessed at B2 level or through the university process.
• European University: its official international-student page describes an English-medium MD programme of six years and 360 ECTS, with annual tuition published as US$6,500.

These examples confirm that the programmes exist on official university pages. They are not a claim of NMC approval, guaranteed admission, current seat availability or suitability for every Indian student.

Eligibility and Admission Questions

The official programme pages require completed school education or its equivalent and evidence of English ability. The method of proving English can differ by university and may include a certificate or university assessment.

Indian citizens and OCI applicants planning to study a primary medical qualification abroad must also check the NEET and eligibility rules applicable to their admission year. Admission by a foreign university and future eligibility to practise in India are separate matters.

Clinical Training and Internship Need Written Confirmation

Official curricula describe basic, pre-clinical and clinical learning. Before choosing, ask when patient-facing training begins, which hospitals are used, the language used with patients, how attendance is recorded and how clinical work is assessed.

For students who may seek registration in India, the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021 describe conditions including at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship in the same foreign medical institution, English-medium instruction, mandatory subjects and eligibility to register in the country awarding the degree. How Much Should Parents Plan For?

Published tuition is only one part of the budget. Ask for the current tuition schedule, accommodation cost, deposit, insurance, documentation, travel, food, local transport, visa-related expenses and refund terms.
