Understanding the medical programme
Indian families commonly search for “MBBS in Russia”, while Russian universities generally use the programme title “General Medicine”. The exact qualification and programme terms are set out in the university’s course documents.
Classroom language and communication with patients are separate parts of medical training. Russian-language learning is an important consideration when reviewing clinical placements and everyday life.
LIFE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Studying in Kursk
Kursk State Medical University is located in Kursk, Kursk Oblast. Winters are cold, with average January temperatures below freezing. Warm layers, a winter coat and footwear with a good grip help students manage the season. Summer temperatures are much warmer than winter, making a mix of light clothing and warmer layers practical.

SETTLING INTO UNIVERSITY LIFE
Students, community and campus life
Moving to Kursk means building a new routine alongside medical study. Accommodation, meals, language and support from fellow students all influence how comfortably a student settles in. For parents, a clear point of contact and regular communication are equally important.
A dated Indian-student enrolment figure has not been verified for this guide. We do not publish an estimated headcount.
A conversation with a current student can offer a useful view of everyday life, from getting to classes in winter to choosing meals. Our counsellors can help families identify the points most relevant to their shortlist.
2026–27 FEE REFERENCE
Tuition fees and study budget
The reference combines tuition and hostel. A separate tuition-only amount is not available. The reference also says insurance is included; no separate amount is available. These figures must not be treated as tuition-only.

| Year 1 | USD 8,480 | ₹8,05,600 |
| Year 2 | USD 6,900 | ₹6,55,500 |
| Year 3 | USD 6,900 | ₹6,55,500 |
| Year 4 | USD 6,900 | ₹6,55,500 |
| Year 5 | USD 6,900 | ₹6,55,500 |
| Year 6 | USD 6,900 | ₹6,55,500 |
| 6-year listed fee sum | USD 42,980 | ₹40,83,100 |
This is the sum of the listed course-year figures, not a fixed-price promise or a university invoice. Hostel and food are not added again where already included. Later-year figures remain subject to revision.
How we calculate Indian rupees
USD 1 = ₹95 is UNEXT’s fixed estimate, not the market rate. RUB 1 ≈ ₹1.1343, based on the Bank of Russia rate dated 24 September 2026 (100 INR = 88.1605 RUB). INR figures are approximate and rounded. Your bank’s payment rate may differ.
Fees can change each year. For planning, allow for a possible 5–10% annual tuition increase due to inflation. This is a UNEXT budgeting allowance, not a confirmed increase for every university. The final university fee schedule takes priority. No extra inflation increase has been added to the tables.
Only tuition, hostel and mess/food are compared here. This is not the full cost of studying abroad. Where the reference bundles costs, we identify that instead of inventing a tuition-only split.
Accommodation and food costs
Mess / food
Pay actual food costs.
The business-supplied fee reference is not a final university invoice. Confirm availability and billing periods. No unspecified monthly amount has been multiplied into an annual total.
Accommodation and meals are important parts of a comfortable student routine. Room sharing, the distance to classes, kitchen access and meal preferences can affect the right choice for each student. The figures above describe the available fee reference; room facilities and current meal arrangements depend on the final allocation.
